Melvin finished his Championship on March 5, 2006 by going Winner's Dog for a 5 Point Major at the Chesapeake Siberian Husky Club Specialty under judge Karin Ashe.

In addition, Melvin was awarded back to back Best in Specialty Sweepstakes under judges Dawn Eisele and Debbie Meador - Entries for the first day, (27) and the second day, (24).
